Finding a church you can call home is an important decision. Our desire is for you to find a family of Christian people with whom you can worship, build relationships, utilize your abilities and develop as a follower of Christ. I encourage you to give us an opportunity to be the church you can call home.

Thank you for your interest in Ada First. If you have any questions or want to talk to someone from our church please feel free to contact us. I invite you to worship with us on Sunday and experience for yourself the power of God at work in our church.

Dr. Pat Kilby

Purpose means to have an intended aim or goal.

The purpose of Ada First is to share the “Good News” of Jesus Christ and develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
The purpose of Ada First is described in Matthew 28:18-20 where Jesus said: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” NIV

Mission means to send a person or group of persons to perform a service or carry on an activity.

The Mission of Ada First is to send followers of Christ out into the world who are: “Living Today . . . Changing Tomorrow”
The Mission of Ada First is described in Matthew 5:14-16 where Jesus said: “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put in on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. in the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven.”

Priority means to rank in order of superiority or importance.

The priorities of Ada First based on Acts 2:41-47 are as follows:

  • Discipleship: Discipleship is the activity of knowing and learning more about God.
  • Fellowship: Fellowship is the activity of establishing and developing relationships.
  • Prayer: Prayer is the activity of communicating with God.
  • Ministry: Ministry is the activity of serving God.
  • Worship: Worship is the activity of honoring God.
  • Evangelism: Evangelism is the activity of sharing the “Good News” about Jesus Christ with others.

Philosophy describes the beliefs, concepts and attitudes of a person or group.

We believe the Holy Bible to be Divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit of God without any mixture of error. We believe Jesus Christ is the virgin-born Son of God who lived a sinless life, was crucified for all the sins of humanity, was buried, was resurrected from the dead, and ascended to the right hand of the Father. We believe there is everlasting life in Heaven with God or in Hell separated from God.

We believe there is only one way to everlasting life with God in Heaven, and that is through faith in Jesus Christ based on confession and repentance of sin. We also believe Jesus Christ is coming back in great power and glory for those who look for His return.

Passion describes having devotion to a particular concept or activity.

Ada First is devoted to showing the love of Christ by sharing the “Good News” of Christ in word and deed.
