Senior Pastor - Dr. Pat Kilby

Pat Kilby became the Senior Pastor of Ada First Baptist Church in July 2004. A graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, and Gardner-Webb University, Pat received his Master of Divinity and the Doctor of Ministry Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Pat and his wife Angela were married on July 9th 1988 and have four children – Myles, Cory, Olivia, and Britton. As a family, they enjoy family nights at home, movies, shopping, sports, and vacations. He and his family are huge UNC Basketball fans.

During the summer of 1982 before my senior year in high school I committed my life to Jesus Christ. From that point on my life changed. In the fall of 1989 after several months of prayer and personal deliberation I answered the call of God upon my life to preach His Word. My passions include my family, preaching God’s Word, providing positive leadership, and preparing the members of First Baptist Church to influence people in their world with the good news of Jesus Christ.

My life verse is Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

My mission in life is to live in such a way that people see Jesus in me.”

Associate Pastor - John Haynes

John’s father was a career Army officer raised in Southwestern Oklahoma.  When he retired from the military their family moved back to Lawton where John grew up. Upon completing his undergraduate education at Cameron University John taught school for eight years. He has completed a Master’s in Education and Administration at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK and a Masters in Religious Education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. John and his wife Nancy have been blessed with two wonderful children, and have five grandchildren – James, Matthew, Rachel, Andrew and Lyla who are the light of their lives. While teaching school in Lawton John served 2 rural churches in the area. In 1982 John and Nancy felt the Lord leading them into full time vocation ministry. They moved to Immanuel Baptist in Norman, OK as Youth and Music Minister where they served for eight years until being called to First Baptist, Edinburg, TX as Minister of Education and Evangelism.  In 1993 they responded to God’s calling to Ada First.

The greatest advantage a child can have is parents who teach their children about Jesus. Both Nancy and I had parents that took us to church and modeled for us the Christian life. I was saved and committed my life to Jesus when I was 16 at Falls Creek. At that time I felt the Lord was preparing me for vocational service.

Acts 1:8, “but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”  God called us to plant our lives in Ada and serve God through this great church. Our church has been and continues to be a mission minded church that desires to reach our world for Jesus. It is a joy that God has allowed us to be here and see young people grow up, begin families and continue to serve God.

The biggest decision I ever made in my life was when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior while on staff as Minister of Music and youth at FBC Wewoka, OK. I had struggled for years with knowing that my decision as a child wasn’t genuine. The day i was baptized two of my senior adult WMU ladies also made their decisions for Christ public.

Harold and his wife, Brenda, have been married for 30 years and have three children, Whitney, Kailey, Jacob and four grandchildren.
