GriefShare seminar/support group held January through March
GriefShare is a weekly video seminar featuring some of the nation’s foremost experts on grief recovery topics. These sessions include “The Journey of Grief”, “The Effects of Grief”, “When Your Spouse Dies”, “Your Family in Grief”, “Why?” and “Stuck in Grief”.
Each seminar is combined with a grief support group discussion time to allow group participants to talk about the content of the seminar and about how they are dealing with the death of their loved one. These sessions are designed to help anyone who has experienced the death of any family member, friend, or unborn child.
There are 13 weekly sessions held every Tuesday night from 7-9:00 pm at Ada First Baptist Church at 521 South Broadway Room 220.
Participants can begin attending the group at any session. Each is “self-contained” so they do not have to attend in sequence. They will be able to continue with GriefShare the next cycle and view any of the videos that they did not see. The program will help people who are just beginning the journey of grief, and also those who have been grieving for some time and may feel that they are have become “stuck” in their grief and feel unable to move forward.
There is no cost for this program. I do have an additional workbook which can be a helpful tool to guide them during the weekdays, helping them sort through their thoughts and emotions. The workbooks cost $12 and cover the full 13 week program. No requirement is made to purchase the workbooks.
