In a day when the arts are flourishing in the church, some are questioning the relevance of church choirs. Many churches have done away with choir. One of the most powerful and penetrating experiences of the arts is found in the dynamic of hundreds of voices lifted in passionate worship of Jesus Christ. Worship is pleasing to God and fulfilling to the worshipper. Our prayer is that many will come to know the Lord through the worship celebration, and ultimately, that believers would draw closer in their individual walk with Jesus Christ.
At FBC, Ada, we never ask for perfect voices . . . we pray for joyful singer/worshipers. The Choir is an electrifying musical family who loves to use their voices to lead God’s people in His praises. Worshiping hearts make the best music. The most important requirement to join the Choir is that you have a willing heart to praise God and serve others. You are encouraged to check out this community of worshippers. We worship, pray, work, laugh and grow together week by week. There are no auditions and no one is ever turned away.
Out of the choir, we select Praise Team members who add another demotion to the worship celebrations. These teams are composed of choir members who audition and are chosen to serve for a term. Their music skills are more advanced and additional rehearsal time is required.
The Choir meets each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. They are responsible for leading worship in the 10:30 worship celebration each Sunday morning, as well as presenting seasonal and non-seasonal musical and dramatic programs throughout the year.
